The ProTac body is machined from 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum and anodized to military specification (MIL-SPEC A-8625 Type III hard anodize) — this is the same surface treatment used on aerospace components and is far harder than standard anodize. The PM2 uses CPM S30V powder metallurgy blade steel — an alloy with a fine carbide structure that maintains a working edge 3-5x longer than standard stainless knife steel.
